Re: Rules or No Rules.. That is the Question!!!

I definitely agree with you that these questions are a vicious cycle. I'm taking philosophy this semester and this really seems similar to some of the discussions about Plato we have had trying to define virtue or piety or something. We can always give examples but can't figure out that one thing that connects them all. It's like we all already know what literature is but can't find the way to describe it. This question leads us to more questions and so on and so on. Plato never really answered the question 'what is piety', maybe there isn't really a set answer. Maybe there isn't a set answer for 'what is literature?' either. Maybe it really is just in the eyes of the beholder...
